After School Enrichment (ASEP)
The Glencliff After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) runs in the winter and spring months, usually on Friday afternoons from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. for 6 weeks in January/ February & Spring - April/May. Lots of different programs have been offered from gymnastics and karate to candy making and cartooning. The classes are offered on a first come, first served basis and some of them fill up quickly so stay tuned for this year's class offerings.
The Cultural Committee researches and coordinates enrichment programs for the students. This includes field trips and assemblies.
This job is to get parent volunteers to be homeroom parents for their child's class. They plan the parties, collect classroom dues and helps the teacher when needed to communicate with the parents.
The Library Volunteers help the children check out their books and help re-shelve books. We try to have at least 2 volunteers for each classroom so that volunteers can alternate weeks.
The School Banking program is great way for children to learn about saving money. It is run through CapCom. Children have their own account with the bank and bring deposits to school most Thursday mornings at which time a volunteer parent collects the deposits, enters them into the computer and brings the deposit to the bank. The children get rewards when they deposit and they get to save money and learn about the banking system. If you'd like to get your child involved in the banking program contact the volunteer coordinator.
What would school be without the annual picture? Whether you order portraits or not, it's great to see the annual pictures of your child's class and his or her growth. Pictures are taken each fall with a retake date in case you're not happy with your child's first portrait.
